- impulse for acquisition of knowledge should be immediate.. very short feedback loop... query --> response; feedback loop is cheap the more you scale down... parallelism makes the feedback loop longer; more people more wait time

- the great conceit: core curriculum is fascism... "there is an ideal student"
- "these are things people need to know to operate in the real world"
- go to classes when you want; lectures recorded (textbook is the original recording); office hours/dialogue take the place of lectures
